PSUVSA is hosting it's VSA’S LAST DANCE OF THE YEAR, and the best part is: It’s FREE! Although the event is free, this a FUNDRAISING EVENT, so a $5 donation is suggested, as all donations will be donated to VietHope. The theme for this year’s spring dance is “Field of Dreams,” and will be held on FRIDAY, MAY 15, 2009 from 6 to 9 PM on the 4TH FLOOR TERRACE of the Urban Building, next to the Portland State Bookstore and Pizzacato. The dance will be held OUTDOORS on a rooftop that overlooks the city, so you can dance and enjoy a beautiful view!
There will be FREE FOOD, along with wonderful music by DJ Manic. Again, ADMISSION IS FREE so come join us for our last dance! BUT, remember! A $5 donation is suggested as this is a fundraising event for VietHope.

Hope to see you all there!

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: If you don't want to attend the event itself, but you need community service/volunteer hours, we will be needing lots of helpers setting up for this event. :)

Setting up times will be from 4:30PM until the start of the event! If you would like to sign up or if you have any questions, please e-mail Linda at Linndabear@gmail.com . Reminders about this will follow within the next few weeks!

"My fellow VSA Officers,

PSU is offering Heritage Vietnamese Course for this Winter Term and
Prof. Quy Nguyen has contacted me to ask that I share this opportunity
with every one of you all and everyone in VSA and beyond.

Heritage Vietnamese is a great refresher course, or for anyone
interested in the Vietnamese language and culture in general. For
second generation Vietnamese-American, this is a great place to start
to geti n touch with your root. Prof. Quy is a wonderful lecturer and
works hard to engage her students. Currently she would like more
students to enroll for the course to ensure a more successful course
for everyone in the class and make it fun for everyone.

I will personally try to register for the class myself and was
wondering if anyone else would like to join me. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE
VIETNAMESE TO TAKE THIS COURSE. I have taken a similar course in the
past and had a very smart Causcasian friend who did exceptionally well
in the class.

Please sign up if you are able to or needs another elective for Winter
Term! PLEASE!" - Bao
